amaths paper 2 today. dunno y, didnt feel like walking out wif the guys, so just went home straight away after the paper. hmm...dunno how to say, but if lucky i maybe still got chance to smell my A. or maybe taste the B, but think D is out of reach le la. haha
tmr is chemistry. hmm, think i'll do my notes here on this blog ba.
The Haber Process
this process is about mixing nitrogen and hydrogen gas together in the ratio 1:3 to get ammonia. lol so stupid. ammonia is NH3, of course nitrogen and hydrogen must mix in 1:3 la. stupid. anyway an iron catalyst is needed and a condition of temperature of 450 degrees and 200 atm is optimal in getting the most ammonia safely and quickly. so that about sums it up.
The Contact Process
this process is about getting sulphuric acid from sulphur.
First, burn sulphur to get sulphur dioxide
Then, mix sulphur dioxide and air(oxygen) to get sulphur trioxide. Conditions are 450 degrees and vanadium(V) oxide catalyst.
Then, put the sulphuric trioxide and sulphuric acid together to get oleum.
Finally mix oleum with water to form sulphuric acid.
Extraction of Iron
First get the iron ore. his name is haematite
then put him in the blast furnace. let him drink coke and play marble(calcium carbonate/limestone)
then just burn him like siao lor.
this is the burning of haematite
Coke and oxygen become CO2 and heat.
CO2 drink more coke and become CO(Chinese Orechstra)
then haematite react with the CO and becomes iron and CO2
the limestone is burnt to form calcium oxide.
the calcium oxide then reacts with the impurities in haematite(SiO2) to form slag.
cant go on any longer le. think i'll just stop here. anyway those who found my notes useful or useless tell me hor. sigh, fewer and fewer ppl are tagging my board....why arent u all tagging? why arent U tagging?
so must tag ar. bye
